Building upon the richness of the long-running Author Series, our Music Salons seek to unite those who wish to immerse themselves in music’s pull upon the imagination.

In collaboration with PostClassical Ensemble, Music Salons, part of Celebrating the Arts at The Hay-Adams, are intended to be a stunning respite from daily activities. Taking place in The Hay-Adams Room, which features a warm ambiance amid inviting woodwork and period ceiling details, Music Salons provide a space to engage very intimately with live music.

PostClassical Ensemble is known for creating a welcoming, inclusive and joyful experience that nourishes the soul, touches the spirit and inspires the mind. Through the brilliant playing of some of the
East Coast’s most distinguished musicians, and an array of artistic mediums, PCE strives to capture each composer’s extraordinary vision along with the cultural, political and artistic landscape in which
their music was created.

This is achieved under the visionary guidance of Music Director/Conductor Angel Gil-Ordóñez. Born in Madrid, Angel, who is also Principal Guest Conductor of New York’s Perspectives Ensemble and Music Director of the Georgetown University Orchestra, blends his deep passion and experience with the refined talent and skill of elite musicians, to create music performances that transport and connect people.

Angel will hand-select musicians for each Music Salon, ensuring that every performance will offer a one-of-a-kind moment between music and listener.

Join us for an upcoming Music Salon at The Hay-Adams, where a live-music journey will transport you.
