The Hay-Adams Room
On Monday, October 5, explore the musical influences and cross-cultural encounters that helped shape the distinctive sounds of Debussy, Ravel, and Ibert. PostClassical Ensemble presents oboist Fatma Daglar, clarinetist David Jones, and pianist Audrey Andrist in a program that considers how French composers imagined places far east of Western Europe, and wrote them into classical tradition.
Drawing on her Turkish heritage and artistic perspective, Daglar brings a personal lens to an evening of evocative color, rhythmic vitality, and expressive nuance. Enjoy exquisite performances along with commentary by the musicians and PostClassical Ensemble’s music director, Angel Gil-Ordóñez, in the storied Hay-Adams Room.
